Download and Create a Dataset from the Scratch Folder

From the scratch folder, you are now able to view and download content created in the Cloud Workstation and create a dataset from the scratch folder.

To create a dataset from the scratch folder:

1. Click Create dataset.

2. Provide the Title, Description and Tags

3. Click Create Dataset

The file will then be available as a dataset and as such, can be viewed and used in capsules. For more information on how to use datasets, please go to the Data Assets Guide.

Establish an External Link to AWS S3 Folder

From release 2.1, linking a dataset to an external folder in an S3 bucket is supported.

To add a dataset from an S3 bucket folder:

• Click + Add dataset.

• Click AWS S3 Bucket and then click Next.

• Specify the Bucket Name and the Folder Name.

• Check Keep files on external storage.

• Select AWS credentials (go to Secret Management Guide if you need help on setting a secret).

• Complete the fields:

  • Dataset Name (required)—Use a meaningful name so that others can find the dataset easily.

  • Default Folder (required)—The folder name inside a capsule. Use a name that’s similar to the dataset name. Spaces and some special characters are not allowed here.

  • Description (optional)—Add some text to make the dataset easy to find and understand.

  • Tags (required)—Tags are another way to help people find your dataset.

• Click Add Dataset to finish.
